2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (KJV) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

A. We must learn to make our trials work to our benefit

a. Everything that comes into our life, comes under our dominion

b. It is your life, and the trial is trespassing

B. One way to make the trial work for you instead of against you is to stop giving it your attention

a. There is the attention of responsibility and the attention of fear

b. Trails need attention to be effective

c. When we don’t give our trials attention, they work for us; When we give them attention, they become defiant

C. Give your attention to eternal things

a. Eternal things need your attention to make the trials temporary

b. When you give your attention to eternal things, God will make the trials work out for His glory
